Bepino of the Canadian Bandits

born 18.11.1994 in Bad Mergentheim

died 13.01.2002 in my arms

Bepino of the Canadian Bandits 3,5years old
Pino 3,5 years old

"Pino" got his name "Bepino"=little boy, because he was the smallest puppy in the litter.

I met his breeders (the Fesser family) long before I even yearned to get a dog of my own.

My parents were worried about me taking the responsibility of "my" dog (as unfortunately many kids and teenagers neglect) and thus feared the extra work for them.

As time proved, they have been terribly mistaken!

First time I saw the litter B "of the Canadian Bandits" was when all puppies were about one week old. Next time I visited them, they were already 5 weeks old.

These little, helpless guineapig-like mites really became "right" puppy-dogs.

At this second visit, one of them catched my eye in a special way (the orange-coloured one).

This little Boy was as attentive, playful and cuddly just as the others, but he had constantly seeked my attention- not to say: "he claimed me".

My instinct told me that he had to become my dog!

Unfortunately my parents didn`t think so.

Somehow I managed to finally persuade my parents to this dog.

What a frustration as I called family Fesser and heard that all puppies, except the red-marked one, had been already promised to new owner - including the orange-marked one. *my dream was gone*

I was acquainted with the breeders, had seen both parents of the litter in many situations and knew that this litter was perfectly fitted for a life in this big, wide world- yet on this day, my parents said "yes" to a dog- who`d know when such a chance would return?

With a heavy heart I told Rolf Fesser that I was willing to provide a good new home also the "red-marked one"

About two hours later our telephone rang- my mother answered and I noticed she was speaking with someone about dogs.

It turned out that Heike and Rolf Fesser "got into a huddle" if they could take the responsibility to hand one of their babies to me, the 15 year old teenager.

What shall I say!? - even today, about 16 years later, I am very thankful that you, Heike & Rolf, entrusted me with my "orange-marked" Pino!

Pino developed to an outstanding dog just picture-perfect!

My white dream was my permanent companion (ok, at school or at the doctor`s he was not allowed to follow me), twisted "inveterate opponents" around his paw and teached many children how relate to dogs without fear.

We tried many different things (obedience, tracking,

protection) on different dog-schools until we found our work and started training within a "search + rescue"-team.

From the beginning, Pino was a real hard worker (I had more efforts to calm him down than to motivate him) and we could have been (according to the statements of proven instructors from different dog-school-spots) very succesful in every disciplins we engaged - but it went another way.

Also at dog contests he represented himself from his best side- always with highest grades placed within the top 3 ranking, so he became e.g. Youth-Vice-European-Winner, Austrian-Youth-Winner and Germany-South-Winner.

We passed the stud service certification at the BVWS (WS club in Germany) with fantastic grades in both, mental and beauty - regardlessly he never had any offsprings.

Shortly after this I decided to stop his exhibition - and his sports career, as he incured a dorsal ruptur from an accident, which was not initially identified by several vets.

My device: first comes the dog, then the human and then, at some time, the "ego of the owner"!

All of a sudden, Pino was taken out of our lives after an emergency surgery on January 14th 2002.

Monsi, you`re always in my heart....until the rainbow!

Only a few are really lively

and these who are will never die.

It doesn´t count that they ar not here anymore

-no one you really love is dead.
